Astrolab is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and foster a safe and sustainable work environment for our employees. As an EHS Manager, you will play a critical role in contributing to the safety and success of our organization as we embark on revolutionary space exploration ventures.
What you'll do:
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Conduct risk assessments and evaluate hazards to identify potential safety and environmental concerns, implementing measures to mitigate risks and improve safety
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, or near misses, providing recommendations and developing action plans to prevent recurrence and promote a safe working environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety and environmental considerations into project planning, design, and implementation
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established safety guidelines and protocols
- Build, implement, and own training and educational programs to raise awareness and educate employees on safety practices, environmental responsibilities, and compliance requirements
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, participate in audits, and maintain all required environmental permits and licenses
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in safety/STEM OR 4+ years of experience in EHS related role
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certifications are a plus
- 4+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or a technology-related industry
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change across an organization
