We are currently seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team in Tupelo, MS. This is not a seasonal or part-time role — we're looking for a dedicated professional ready to build a career in animal healthcare with room to grow.

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM | Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Sunday: Closed
🩺 What You'll Do
Patient Care & Handling
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Assist with patient intake, triage, and assessments
- Monitor hospitalized and post-op patients for changes in condition, behavior, and comfort
Medical & Surgical Assistance
- Assist with surgical prep and procedures, including:
- Patient induction
- Endotracheal tube placement
- Anesthesia monitoring and recovery support
- Provide support during dental procedures, routine surgeries, and urgent medical interventions
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments
Laboratory & Clinical Support
- Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement with confidence
- Collect and process laboratory samples, including:
- Blood
- Urine
- Fecal specimens
- Skin scrapings
- Run in-house lab tests (CBC, chemistry panels, urinalysis, fecal exams) and prepare samples for external diagnostics
Client Communication
- Educate clients on post-treatment care, medications, and home monitoring
- Support the front desk team when needed by answering phones, booking appointments, and communicating with clients about their pet’s condition
Facility & Record Maintenance
- Maintain accurate medical records in our veterinary software system
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms, kennels, and surgical suites
- Restock supplies and organize inventory
🎯 Who We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting
- Proficiency in animal handling, venipuncture, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfort working independently and as part of a cohesive team
- Confidence in managing a variety of clinical tasks under pressure
- Ability to work Saturdays and occasional extended hours as needed
