Summary

The Audiovisual (AV) Live Event Technician works closely with Administrative Services, Workplace Services, and IT Technicians to maintain and support video conference systems. Services are typically targeted at conference rooms or meeting centers in support of presentations, video and audio conferencing, streaming video, and web-based collaboration. The Audiovisual (AV) Live Event Technician works closely with Exec Administrative teams, divisional contacts with AV solution implementation needs, Desktop Services Technicians, and AV service providers and vendors to maintain, and support video conference and automated AV systems. Services are typically targeted at conference room solutions or facilitating meeting support for divisional or all company meeting in large conference centers to support presentations, video and audio conferencing, streaming video and web-based collaboration events and activities. Whenever necessary, the AV tech conducts further analysis and testing to determine cause and resolution to technology issues and works with the appropriate individuals if they are not able to resolve themselves. The AV Tech serves as one initial escalation point for AV issues.

Responsibilities

✔ Provide pre-meeting and in-meeting support for audio & video systems across the company including special events, board meetings, company, and department meetings and streaming training.

✔ Receive and respond to incoming calls, alerts, messages, and/or e-mails regarding AV troubleshooting, diagnosing, isolating and repairing all AV equipment including but not limited to multimedia systems, meeting rooms, video/data projections systems, conference room sound and microphone systems, video recording/playback cameras, camcorders, monitors, digital white boards, Crestron control panels, etc. Conduct follow-up assessments with key personnel to determine whether expectations were met.

✔ Conduct on-site training and demonstrations for senior leaders, administrative assistants, and other company employees as requested; Develop end-user documentation covering basic use cases for all conference room AV equipment.

✔ Collaborate with Administrative Services, Workplace Services, and other key personnel to develop and enforce proper AV practices and procedures.

✔ Provides supplemental support and back-up coverage for the Sr Event Production Specialist and can perform most of their duties.

✔ Administer web-based collaboration systems by configuring and managing system settings and communications. Test future releases and work with the Sr Event Production Specialist to provide a seamless upgrade and user education

Education Required

High School Diploma No additional education or certifications required. Additional education and certifications will be considered if applicant does not have enough work experience

Minimum Years Of Work Related Experience Required

3-5 years’ experience with video conference equipment and control systems including installation, configuration, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.

Specific Industry And/Or Specialty Experience Required

Solid foundation of implementing and supporting Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Dante, Crestron, QSC, NDI, and other AV technologies. Camera and video switch operation, Live audio mixing and recording. Video streaming and digital signage systems.

Specific Licensing Training And/Or Designation Required

 

Skills and Abilities Required

Exercise initiative and good judgment; Maintain a positive approach despite conflicting deadlines, shifting priorities and simultaneous work demands. Organize, categorize, and prioritize workload effectively and efficiently, under minimal supervision. This position is considered hybrid and cannot be fully remote. International travel will be required. The ability to respect, maintain and enforce healthy boundaries for themselves and their collaborators.

Education/Experience/License/Training/Skills PREFERRED

Crestron, Dante, QSC, Avixia Live event, CTS, NDI, and other corporate AV and live event certifications.

Impact

Frequently works with a variety of internal customers providing both standard and complex information. May contact external and internal customers/clients and answer questions which may sometimes be complex in nature.

Job Complexity

Provides core level support. Identifies problems and all relevant issues in a variety of situations, assesses each using standard procedures and makes sound decisions, researching information to resolve problems or issues. Responds to inquiries and may provide basic interpretation of policies and procedures.

Skills And Knowledge

Requires considerable knowledge of duties typically obtained through job-related training and experience. Knowledgeable of specified computer applications; office practices and procedures. Uses initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.

Reporting Structure

Completes tasks as required by the needs of the department. Uses established procedures guidelines but can deviate with management approval. No direct supervisory responsibilities, however likely acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.

Works closely with Administrative Services, Workplace Services, and IT Technicians, divisional contacts with AV solution implementation needs and AV service providers and vendors
