This Early Career Systems Engineer position provides technical support to Navy and Lockheed Martin customers for issues related to FBM D5 Missile processing. Candidate will provide liaison between LM and its customers to ensure conformance to quality and technical requirements. Individual will be expected to develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity, perform in a team environment and work under the general direction of a group lead. Individual works within LM production and processing buildings during the handling, assembly, disassembly, testing and repair of missile hardware and support equipment. Candidate researches hardware drawing requirements, operator/handler processing procedures, documentation change management, training systems, and facility interfaces to provide engineering solutions. Seeking candidates with a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering background, with an understanding and ability to apply basic mechanical principles, theories and concepts. Candidates who possess abilities in both Electrical and Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering fields are a plus.
You will work directly with, and around, FBM D5 missile hardware and support equipment in production processing buildings. The job involves both in office analytical analysis while also getting out into the field and working directly with hardware and the equipment operators and technicians.
Candidate will provide technical guidance and direction within, but not limited to the following areas:
1) Troubleshooting to isolate and correct anomalous/nonconforming missile hardware and support equipment
2) Determination of compliance to and corrections of processing and requirements documentation
3) Occasional special engineering studies.
4) Generate, analyze, revise, and publish technical procedures/documentation to FBM program requirements
5) Validate acceptance of new processes and upgrades/alterations to buildings, missile hardware, and support equipment.
This role does not include a focus on design/development engineering related tasks however candidate must have ability to understand existing designs and recommend changes to our design engineering teams.
Position is at the Navy's Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific in Silverdale, WA and requires support to day and swing shift hours. Occasional overtime weekend support is also needed. Some travel is expected to other FBM sites. Candidate works in a team environment under the general direction of a group lead.
