REPORTS TO: VP of Human Resources

COMPENSATION: Salary, Benefits, and up to 10% bonus eligibility 
LOCATION: On-Site

 

 

SUMMARY 

The Human Resource Manager will support the HR VP by leading and directing the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including assisting with hiring and interviewing, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, and leading 4 direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to)   

 

  • Partners with the leadership teams across all affiliates to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, department management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Oversees and Partners with the Recruiting Specialist to manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Partners with HR VP to analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations across all affiliates.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.  
  • Partners with HR VP to handle corrective discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in human resource management is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s ADP HRIS system.

WORK CONDITIONS 

Physical Space: Climate-controlled, well-lit, and designed for office-based tasks. Open-plan layouts, private office.

Technology: Standard tools include computers, telephones, wi-fi, and office software.

Hours: Standard office hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 or 9 AM to 5 or 5:30 pm, Flexible work environment

Dress code: Business casual is the norm

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the team member must be able to engage in routine physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for typing and handling materials. Occasional travel may be required for annual meetings or other job-related needs.
