Lincoln International is seeking an Associate to join our Energy Transition, Power and Infrastructure team in London. With an integrated team of more than 100 professionals in the UK, Lincoln International is one of Europe’s leading M&A advisory houses, consistently ranking in top positions in relevant league tables.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This position provides an excellent opportunity to work in a demanding, yet supportive, team-oriented environment. The individual will work on a range of projects alongside senior members of the team. The successful candidate will be integral to the fulfilment of complex transactions, acting as the analytical anchor of the deal team, with responsibility for the preparation, completion and accuracy of all financial modelling and analyses. The Associate is expected to interpret and challenge the results of his/her financial analysis, drawing conclusions and presenting results to clients. In addition, the Associate plays a critical role in the preparation and review of client presentations and analysis. Key responsibilities include:

  • Play a pivotal role in the origination and execution of M&A transactions
  • Prepare and review all transaction- and client-related marketing materials, presentations, and documentation for both sell-side and buy-side mandates
  • Identify potential acquirers
  • Conduct detailed industry and company research
  • Reviewing and critically analysing sets of financial accounts or projections and testing their veracity
  • Perform detailed company valuations, and sensitivity and scenario analyses through DCF modelling, including structured finance and regulated asset modelling
  • Support the full deal lifecycle, including due diligence, coordination of client and potential purchaser meetings
  • Keep abreast of M&A, equity, and debt market trends and issues, and contribute strategic insights to deal teams
  • Contribute to client meetings throughout deal lifecycle
  • Assist in the development of junior staff, providing both formal and informal feedback
  • Collaborate closely with sector, country, and product teams as well as seasoned senior bankers in cross-border, small-team contexts
  • Maintain and build strong client and professional relationships, including contributing to business development initiatives
  • Assist with internal projects such as practice development, marketing literature, training activities, and implementation of strategic plans

Qualifications:

The Associate position at Lincoln International offers an excellent learning experience and provides a solid foundation upon which an individual can build a future business career. Interested candidates should bring the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in M&A and debt financing, with at least 3 years focused on the Energy and/or Infrastructure sector
  • Track record of contributing to conventional and complex M&A transactions, including origination and execution phases
  • Strong track record in financial analysis, modelling, and business valuation, with a sharp attention to detail
  • Highly numerate and analytical, able to produce accurate, well-structured output to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and engaging (written and verbal).
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable, with a collaborative style and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in decision-making, with the ability to manage a portfolio of projects and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential; strong overall Microsoft Office skills required
  • International perspective; experience working in diverse, cross-border environments
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Approachable, able to relate to stakeholders at all levels, and adept at developing long-term client relationships
