About the role

AGL’s Hunter Transition team have an opportunity for an Environment Advisor to assist with the delivery of the Liddell Power Station demolition, rehabilitation and remediation.  

This on-site role will support the Senior Environment Advisor and Environment & Approvals Manager in managing compliance with relevant project approvals and licenses, with a secure pipeline in the region of future transition projects.  

The Hunter Transition team play a critical part in the safe transition of assets into industrial energy hubs including renewable energy solutions. This is a truly diverse and hands on role that puts you at the front of Australia’s energy transition.  

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Assisting in developing the AGL Macquarie rehabilitation and remediation strategy. 
  • Supporting project compliance against relevant approvals, licencing and permitting. 
  • Providing support across the Liddell Transition Team around environmental management practice. 
  • Coordinating, scheduling and delivering monitoring required for compliance, due diligence and planning approvals. 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or equivalent. 
  • Practical understanding of NSW planning and regulatory framework for State Significant Developments. 
  • Demonstrated experience in operational compliance on large-scale projects. 
  • Collaborative and solutions-focused to multidisciplinary and complex environmental projects.
