As an SLP, you’ll evaluate and treat residents with speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive challenges, helping them regain confidence and independence. You’ll work closely with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver personalized, evidence-based therapy in a skilled nursing setting.


What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer and interpret specialized tests.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques.
  • Collaborate with rehab and nursing staff in a team-focused environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold HIPAA standards.

Requirements

Education:  

Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.


Licenses/Certification:  

Current license in Speech Language Therapy as required by state law.

Valid CPR certification required.


Experience: 

Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
