Position may be converted from 9-month to 11-month, based on program/operational needs.
This is NOT a remote position – the job requires in-person work.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Teach a range of English courses to both developmental and transfer-level students, focusing on composition.
- Design and teach courses that support the attainment of student learning outcomes.
- Work independently and with colleagues to identify, plan, develop, implement, and assess learning strategies to meet student, College, and community needs.
- Evening, weekend, hybrid, and off-campus early college classes may be assigned as part of the regular workload.
- Provide College and community service.
- Participate in professional and self-development activities.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Master’s Degree in English (Literature, Composition, ESL)
OR
Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (Creative Writing)
Desirable Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in English composition at developmental and transfer levels.
- Experience developing innovative learning experiences that facilitate the achievement of student learning outcomes.
- Experience applying effective, student-centered teaching methods in a variety of modalities, including traditional, hybrid, and asynchronous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues to assess student learning and teaching effectiveness.
- Proficiency in designing and conducting technologically mediated strategies that engage students in productive learning.
- Work experience in business, government, industry, and/or non-profit organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse colleagues and students.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively teach students with diverse academic and linguistic skills.
- PhD in English (or related field) with an emphasis on teaching.
