3rd Shift Custodian 10:00 pm to 6:30 am en Northwest Local School District

SUPERVISOR: BUILDING PRINCIPAL/ BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS SUPERVISOR

JOB OBJECTIVE

• Close and secure the building at the end of the shift
• Clean, in the prescribed manner, the assigned areas of the building
• Perform frequent/seasonal duties

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• The 3rd shift custodian shall have the ability to clean properly and exhibit good housekeeping skills and be able to work alone.
• BCI/FBI Background Check/RAP BAC

• Electric floor scrubbing machine, and other cleaning equipment
• Computer
• Lifts and ladders
• Snow blower/leaf blower

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report regularly at assigned time
• Secure building by locking doors. At end of shift all areas are to be secure
• Clean assigned classrooms, halls, stairways, including
• Emptying and removal of waste from sharpeners, containers, or baskets
• Remove markings, dust and/or clean furniture, walls, widows blackboards, and trays
• Clean sinks, drinking fountains, check and refill dispensers
• carpeting, terrazo, and tile floors are to be sept dusted, or cleaned daily
• Rearrange furniture, check and lock windows, check lights and fixtures and replace if necessary
• Clean assigned restrooms, clinics, locker rooms are to be cleaned daily and include walls, mirrors, windows sinks, and fixtures, toilets and urinals, and fill dispensers. Clean and sanitize floors and drains. Check lights and shut off. Secure doors.
• Clean, check, and secure other assigned areas including kitchen, cafeteria, offices, teachers’ lunges, all purpose rooms, and gyms
• Frequent or seasonal duties are to include
• Washing windows, clean and wash furniture, rugs, runners, and carpeting, scrubbing and waxing floors
• Weeding and cleaning around building exterior, shrubbery and planters
• Clearing of walks and entrance ways, shoveling snow, removal of ice and debris
• Repair furniture, desks, chairs, tables by replacing screws, glides, etc.
• Perform maintenance and repair of the buildings and ground
• Assist in setting up gym, all purpose room or special areas for activities such as assemblies, programs, athletic, or intramural events
• Daily equipment should be emptied, cleaned, and properly stored
• Irregularities, malfunctioning equipment, or problems should be communicated or reported in writing to the principal
• End of day check lights, windows, doors, gate. Set alarm and secure building

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform other duties as directed
• Comply with all Northwest Local Board of Education policies and procedures
• This job will have overtime on weekends and holidays as needed

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Occasional operation of school equipment under inclement weather conditions
• Occasional work with equipment/devices involving electricity, natural gas, and hydraulic fluids
• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
• Able to lift at least 50lbs
• Be on your feet for the whole shift
