Purpose of Position:

The purpose of a Sr. Logistics Specialist position is to manage and coordinate the movement, storage, and distribution of goods, materials, and resources efficiently and cost-effectively. Logistics Specialists play a critical role in ensuring that supply chain operations run smoothly, meeting the needs of customers or other stakeholders. Ensure that goods are delivered on time, within budget, and in the correct quantities, while minimizing waste and optimizing resources.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Process Customer Order in ERP system.
  • Process Intercompany Order as well as MRO purchases as required.
  • Review Backlog, assess material availability and follow up on delivery schedule to maintain the highest customer service level.
  • Support warehouse operations activities that include the following main processes: Receiving, put away, picking and Packing/Shipping.
  • Support Reverse Logistics process.
  • Support and maintain 6S program for the site.
  • Support inventory control processes that include the following: Cycle count, Shelf Life and FIFO.
  • Follow existing custom compliance requirements.
  • Follow existing freight forwarders routing guides and/or instruction provided by customers.
  • Maintain SAP inventory movements and transaction current.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure the highest customer service level is achieved.
  • Engage in continuous learning and improvement to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.
  • Support other activities as requested by the Manager/Supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Understanding of customs and tax law.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, with hands-on experience as a SAP user of T-Codes related with supply chain.
  • Communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Work experience > 5 years in logistics, materials or supply chain areas.

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Operation environment
  • Experience working in Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies
  • Customs Compliance regulation experience

Travel:

  • Travel requirement approx. < 5 % of time

Additional Information:

  • Working remotely is permitted for this role. Percentage of time will be determined at the discretion of area supervisor/manager/director.
