As a Senior Business Continuity Manager at SWIFT, you will be a key player in safeguarding the resilience of SWIFT’s mission-critical global services and infrastructure. You will drive the development, implementation, and continual improvement of business continuity and crisis management frameworks, ensuring SWIFT’s ability to respond to and recover from operational disruptions, in compliance with financial and IT  industry standards and regulatory expectations.

1 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the global Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management framework, aligned with ISO 22301 and other international standards.

  • Lead large-scale, complex business continuity projects, ensuring integration across business units, geographies, and technical systems.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, including SOL (Swift Oversight Law) and DORA (EU Digital Operational Resilience Act) and complimentary resilience frameworks and regulations

  • Design and execute business impact analyses (BIAs), risk assessments, and recovery strategies for critical business functions and IT systems.

  • Design and conduct simulations on Crisis Management, tabletop exercises, and crisis response drills across SWIFT’s global footprint.

  • Coordinate and facilitate enterprise-wide business continuity exercises, disaster recovery drills, and incident response tests.

  • Collaborate with Technical teams and cybersecurity teams to align business continuity with IT disaster recovery and resilience architecture.

  • Provide strategic advice and reporting to senior leadership, risk committees, and external regulators or auditors.

  • Lead and mentor junior resilience and BCM stakeholders across regions, fostering a culture of preparedness and accountability.

  • Continuously enhance and adapt BCM policies and tools to address evolving threats, emerging technologies, and business growth.

2 Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Continuity Management or Operational Resilience, preferably in the financial services or technology sectors.

  • Strong experience in leading complex, multi-country projects in regulated environments.

  • Proven knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including DORA, ISO 22301, FFIEC, NIS2, and GDPR.

  • Experience designing meaningful KPIs (e.g., test completion rates, RTO compliance) and KRIs understanding of how to align metrics with risk appetite and tolerance.

  • Ability to create clear visualizations for continuity metrics, risk trends, and resilience performance. Proficient in tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or Qlik for creating executive-friendly dashboards.

  • Demonstrated experience in working with technical teams, including infrastructure, architecture, operations, cybersecurity, and IT disaster recovery.

  • Experience engaging with regulators and auditors, with a strong understanding of their expectations in continuity planning.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Professional certifications such as CBCP (DRI), MBCI (BCI), CISSP, PMP, or ISO 22301 Lead Implementer are highly preferred.

  • Fluent in English;

  • Excellent project management skills; experience with risk and resilience tools (e.g., Fusion Risk Management, Archer, MetricStream) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
