THE ROLE
We are seeking Early Childhood Teachers for Mia Mia Child and Family Study Centre, one of the four Early Learning Centres operating at Macquarie University.
Part time (2 days per week/ 16 hours per week), fixed term role until 23 December 2025 (parental leave cover)
Full time, continuing role
Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will be an advocate for children, believe in quality early education and the value of relationships, and be willing to collaborate with the university community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, evaluate the educational program, including developmental records
Demonstrate a knowledge of child development
Interact respectfully and positively with children and families
Work positively, respectfully, and collaboratively with a large, diverse team
Maintain a current understanding of the EYLF and National Quality Standards
Support and contribute to all diversity, equity, and inclusion activities
Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
Supervise a small team and manage team performance with support from the Centre Manager
Undertake the Responsible Person and/or Room Leader roles as required
Follow approved policies and procedures to help keep children safe (child protection, supervision, health, and wellbeing)

QUALIFICATIONS & OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
ACECQA approved Degree in early childhood education
Current NESA Accreditation
Approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification
Working with Children Check
Food Handling training
Approved Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Harm qualification
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Holds all qualifications and training specified as required for the role,
Previous experience working with children aged 0-5 years,
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, evaluating and critically reflecting to provide high-quality, inclusive, educational programs,
Proven understanding of child development and knowledge of appropriate strategies for interacting with young children,
Demonstrated experience in effectively supervising children and maintaining a clean and safe environment,
Experience in supervising a team, including ability to coach and develop staff, and providing feedback,
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and model best practice and continuous improvement,
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills,
Sound understanding and knowledge of the regulations and laws related to early childhood (eg Child Protection, NQF, WHS), and
Demonstrated computer literacy skills (e.g. Office 365)
