Working Pattern: Full time

Working location: Derby (Raynesway)

What you will be doing:

An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen for MIS Reporting Delivery Team - Section Lead to join the Performance and Improvement function.

This role is for the Section Lead of the Cognos reporting delivery team, the team provides data analyst support to interpret reports, deconstruct existing reports and liaise with the technical Extract Transform and Load (ETL) team to help design data warehouse solutions. They translate customer reporting requirements, create Cognos digital dashboards and reporting solutions for the business.

Responsibilities:

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to be involved with the following:

  • Lead and support the Cognos reporting delivery team

  • Perform Section Leader duties for Cognos reporting delivery team

  • Provide knowledge to the business in a data analyst capacity to help articulate requirements and support across MIS key personnel

  • Liaise, support and communicate with Scrum Master and ETL Section Lead

  • Support to deconstruct and understanding existing reporting requirements

  • Advise on reporting requirements and recommend analytic opportunities

  • Translate business reporting requirements and engage with ETL team on data warehouse design

  • Engage with customers during data warehouse design and report build process

  • Technical authority on reporting delivery into Production and delivery

  • High standard and expectations of user experience on reporting solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards and timelines

  • Support the deployment of Self-Service Business Intelligence (BI) through Submarines on Cognos report development

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of IBM Cognos Analytics suite, Cognos Framework Manager, Reporting and Dashboard capability

  • Strong previous experience on business reporting and dashboard concepts

  • SAP competent in the context of business processes and data extraction

  • Microsoft Office competent, Microsoft Excel in particular

  • Experience working with data and data warehousing business solutions

  • Knowledge of Data warehousing concepts and ETL concepts

  • Good general understanding of business executive systems, i.e. SAP, Oracle P6, ARM, Workday

  • Strong business acumen skills, customer focus, self-motivation, with a commitment to delivery coupled with excellent communication skills and influencing skills.

  • Strong stakeholder management at all levels of the organisation with excellent leadership behaviours
