The Westminster School District, located in West Orange County, operates 17 schools: 13 elementary sites, three middle schools, and one site which provides preschool programs. The District has approximately 1,100 employees.
The Westminster School District is recognized for high academic achievement and serves about 8,200 students, grades Preschool-8th. The district offers a broad scope of supplemental instructional programs including two dual immersion programs, GATE academy, music and band, exploratory STEAM/Coding programs, and state-of-the-art science and art facilities. Modern library-media centers, integration of technology, and specialized instruction help provide a well-balanced and rigorous curriculum to support students to become innovative, critical thinkers who readily adapt to a rapidly changing 21st-century environment.
Job Summary
Substitute Teacher Employees perform day to day instructional tasks in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Substitute teachers are to perform the lesson plans provided, maintain the safety of the students, and complete any additional assignments or school group related duties during the regular scheduled work day. WSD is a Preschool thru 8th grade district, with dual immersion school sites that offer both Spanish and Vietnamese. WSD has programs in AVID, GATE, Visual and Performing Arts and STEM/STEAM programs. Requirements / Qualifications
1. Teaching Credential - only those with Multi, Single Subject or Ed Specialist will be considered. No 30 Day Emergency.
2. Unofficial University Transcripts
3. Proof of current negative TB test or TB risk assessment within four years must show your name, date and medical providers signature/stamp
4. OCDE Clearing House Fingerprint
5. AB2534 - All school districts previously worked at are listed on the application.
Fingerprinting: All individuals seeking employment in any public school district in Orange County, including substitute teaching positions, are required to complete the OCDE fingerprinting.
This includes:
Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC): Fingerprinting for the CTC is necessary for obtaining or maintaining your teaching credentials.
OCDE Clearing House: Fingerprinting for the OCDE Clearing House is a separate and mandatory requirement for local clearance to work in Orange County public schools.
*Regardless of your CTC status, all prospective substitute teachers for public schools in Orange County must still be fingerprinted for the OCDE Clearing House. This is a separate and mandatory requirement for local clearance.
Comments and Other Information
If you are selected as a Substitute Teacher candidate, you will be notified via email. Your application will not be considered if the required documents are missing from your application.
Due to the school year ending, substitute teacher onboarding will not take place until early August.
You will need to provide your state issued ID and your social security card or equivalent.

Appointments for Fingerprinting (LiveScan) services are available Monday-Friday by calling (714) 966-4306.
NO WALK-IN SERVICE IS AVAILABLE.
