Description
The Activities Assistant will support the planning, organization, and facilitation of engaging activities tailored to the needs and preferences of residents in our memory care community. This role is essential in promoting cognitive function, emotional well-being, and social interaction among residents.
Assist in implementing daily activity programs designed for residents with memory impairments.
Encourage resident participation while respecting individual preferences and abilities.
Document resident engagement and responses to activities. Ensure a safe and supportive environment during all activities.
Drive the community bus safely for outings and appointments (training provided).
Maintain activity supplies and equipment.
Provide feedback to the Activities Director on the effectiveness of programs.
In exigent circumstances, the employee may be subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather,
evacuation, temporary staffing shortages, etc.).
Must adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loves ones.
Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
Requirements
Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state, and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED.
Previous experience in a memory care or senior living setting preferred.
Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in working with seniors.
Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Maintain a clean driving record.
