Qualifications:
- At least one of the following qualifications is required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a relevant major
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a relevant major and two (2) years of relevant experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience with progressive increase in responsibility
- Minimum of two (2) years successful leadership experience
- Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of mechanical trades (electrical, heating, ventilation and low voltage air conditioning, plumbing), building trades (carpentry, roofing, masonry, etc.), and/or security systems.
- Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of maintenance procedures and processes
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and other construction documents
- Working knowledge of building codes and SREF
- Training and/or experiences in personnel management
- Ability to work within the team concept
- Current Florida Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) years of commercial construction/facilities management experience with an emphasis on school construction/facilities management
*Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Manages assigned projects.
- Implements a program that provides for regular preventative maintenance.
- Manages work order requests.
- Implements an efficient system for dealing with emergency repair problems.
- Examines school buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance.
- Develops cost estimates and recommends priorities on projects.
- Maintains safety standards in conformance with state and insurance regulations and a program of preventativesafety.
- Works to insure compliance with district and DOE requirements.
- Supervises staff and provides support for the performance of their assigned tasks/duties.
- Reviews completed work orders and requests.
- Prepares progress reports on assigned projects.
- Coordinates with site personnel for the successful completion of assigned projects.
- Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
