Director of Instructional Excellence- South & West
Location: Flexible within South and Western States
Travel: This role will require 20-30% travel, particularly during peak season (August-October)
Catapult Learning, the largest K-12 instructional services provider in the U.S., is seeking a Director of Instructional Excellence in the South/West territory. This role focuses on enhancing instructional leadership and teaching quality in intervention programs. Reporting to the Senior Director of Academic Quality, the Director plays a crucial role in building leadership capacity within programs through various coaching methods.
Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:
1. Instructional Quality & Program Improvement
- Design and implement strategies that directly improve teaching and learning across programs.
- Develop and monitor academic improvement plans in collaboration with Territory teams.
- Conduct instructional walk-throughs, model coaching conversations, and provide feedback to educators and leaders.
- Analyze and interpret assessment data to identify trends and recommend instructional improvements.
- Identify bright spots and instructional risk areas across programs and escalate patterns to the Senior Director.
- Monitor fidelity of implementation of core academic programming through virtual and in-person observations.
2. Capacity Building & Professional Learning
- Grow the instructional leadership skills of Supervisors, teachers, and other program leaders.
- Design and deliver virtual and in-person professional development sessions on best practices in instruction, coaching, and data use.
- Co-plan and co-facilitate trainings with Supervisors to build local leadership and coaching capacity.
- Conduct 1:1 and small-group coaching aligned to program goals and team member growth plans.
- Build data literacy through team-based reflection protocols and performance review structures.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Support
- Serve as a strategic partner to Territory and national leaders in aligning support efforts.
- Partner with Regional Directors, Area Managers and Program Supervisors to align instructional support with program goals and challenges.
- Participate in data reviews, performance snapshots, and strategy meetings at the Territory level.
- Contribute to the design and facilitation of regional, territory, and national academic meetings.
- Collaborate on the creation of scalable internal resources, tools, and protocols to improve academic quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication protocols to ensure continuity of support across visits and coaching cycles.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in Pre-K-12 teaching, coaching, and/or leadership with at least five years of teaching experience in high-needs schools.
- Proven track record of increasing student achievement and having instructional coaching or educational leadership experience.
- Proficient in using quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions.
- Familiarity with rubric-based observation and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering constructive feedback.
- Strong organization, time management, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Willing to travel and work flexible hours.
