Your role
As our newest Application Engineer, you will enjoy a collaborating with our Sales team, Project Engineers, suppliers and customers. You will be a key technical role in the early stage of the sales process of compressed air installations, product customizations as well as complete engineered solutions. You will get to deep dive into a wide canvas of product lines and technologies such as air compressors, air compressor accessories, dryers, gas generators, air receivers, and much more technical suppor
This position is based in Saint-Laurent and requires presence in-office 3x per week. The standard weekly hours are 35 hrs per week.
The main activities you will take care of
· Support with product sizing and selection for new and complex products or systems
· Support Sales team in evaluating the technical/commercially feasibility of a tender and help to clarify customer inquiries and specifications.
· Deliver high quality quotations for locally purchased equipment, product specific modifications & engineered products
· Cooperate with purchasing and external partners to ensure the best and most economical offers are presented
· Prepare drawings both 2d and 3d, complete technical datasheets when needed during the sales phase
· Prepare and lead detailed technical presentations and attends occasionally bid clarification meetings.
· Contribute in continually improving the efficiency and quality of the support to the sales team in cooperation with the other application enginee
· Support the sales team in collecting all technical information and Itrack installation required to prepare an energy study for their customers
· Conduct and promote AIRScan studies focused on and not limited to air flow, power consumptions, leakages, air quality
· Prepare energy study reports based on acquired data from air audits
· Prepare comparison studies with competitor’s equipment to highlights efficiency benefits
· Compile preliminary and actual potential grants from applicable hydro companies based on new equipment purchased vs actual installation
· Follow up post award to support customer if needed to obtain grant from hydro companies
· Stay up to date and pro-active regarding energy grants requirements across the country
· Develop new avenues to add value to customers and bring forth our efficient solutions
To succeed, you will need
· Your minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering/technical commercial position
· Your Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
· Your experience in energy management and designing and sizing compressed air systems would be an asset
· Your experience with API/ISO standards and specifications
· Your experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and a CRM tool
· Your experience in AutoCAD mechanical or electrical & Inventor professional
· Your bilingualism (English and French) written and spoken
· Your solid communication and presentation skills
