Description
The purpose of the Supply Chain Analyst position is to support the procurement of goods and services essential to company operations by negotiating with suppliers, coordinating purchasing activities, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials. This position builds and maintains supplier relationships, executes bid and purchasing processes, resolves material discrepancies, and partners closely with internal teams to support production, operations, and organizational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for the company.
- Negotiates with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Track the status of purchase orders, monitor lead times, and coordinate with suppliers and logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor their performance, and ensure they meet quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Prepares bid specifications, receives bids and executes purchases of commodities or goods where the financial impact is great.
- Resolves discrepancies for nonconforming materials with quality control personnel, users, suppliers and others.
- Materials purchased are processed, consumed, used within the organization, or purchased for direct resale.
- May work directly in support of line operations and in collaboration with department managers, engineers or operations staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
- Ability to use MS Access & Excel, and Business systems.
- Ability to relate to internal and external suppliers and customers.
- Ability to read and understand documented procedures and technical drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for interacting with suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong data management and organizational skills to manage purchase orders, inventory, and records.
- 1+ years of experience in procurement, preferably with castings, stampings, and electrical components and wire assemblies preferred.
