Summary

This position is responsible for the design of new products and enhancements to existing products. The design and development of our industrial boilers and boiler accessories. This equipment includes but is not limited to: Boilers, Boiler Feed Tanks and Blow down tanks. This position interfaces directly with other engineering personnel, shop staff, non-engineering department personnel and management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations to size and analyze boiler and pressure vessel systems. The scope of these calculations include:
  1. Load and stress calculations for mechanical members and systems.
  2. Pressure drops, flowrates, and pipe stress analysis of fluid systems.
  3. Pressure vessel and boiler pressure parts strength calculations.
  • Preparation and creation of 3D models, 2D drawings and internal order documentation for equipment release to our shop.
  • Work closely with shop staff to optimize the design of parts and equipment for manufacturing
  • Troubleshoot, revise, and optimize existing parts and assemblies for continued improvements to our products and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to internal customers such as Plant Supervisors, third party installers, Customer Service and our Sales team
  • Travel to job sites as required to provide onsite technical support to customers or installers. Minimal travel.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered Skills and Ability
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning production software and systems
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software. AutoCad and SolidWorks preferred
  • Able to read and interpret technical documents, such as technical drawings, production instructions, safety rules, and quality procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
