Responsibilities:

The HR Specialist provides HR services in support centered around HR general functions which includes but does not limit to recruitment, training, HR compliance, policy and procedure troubleshooting questions for team members. The position possesses a foundational knowledge of HR and growing knowledge of the agency department and support function to team members    

 

  • Supports the Talent Specialist with agency recruitment internally and externally.  
  • Supports the onboarding of new employees where needed. 
  • Supports in the HRIS system for employee file processing, pre-boarding paperwork such as background checks and working knowledge of report running, system changes, uploads and review process management.  
  • Has working knowledge around data entry activities related to hiring new employees, pre-screening onboarding, background processing to support Talent Specialist.   
  • Partners with the Engagement and Development Manager to support learning and development initiatives including administrative functions of the LMS, with potential for staff training. 
  • Possesses a working knowledge on all policies and procedures and how to implement/hold accountability to support the team members and leaders across the agency.  
  • Suggests HR changes, policies and elevates team member concerns where needed. 
  • Partners with team members on questions and support related matters.   
  • Holds a strong level of confidentiality across the agency. 
  • Supports benefits administration and workers compensation. 
  • Participates in meeting department goals/objectives; recommends new approaches to continually improve the efficiency of the department and services performed  
  • Processes monthly reports and data to support various needs throughout the agency.  
  • Acts as champion of BAPC’s culture, partnering with business leaders / managers to help build their departments so that they are aligned on HR practices. 
  • Is a visible leader to team members – attends team member meetings and engages both in office and community settings.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field required and a minimum of 2 years of experience in HR. SHRM-CP certification is preferred.  
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to build efficient processes.
  • Strong working knowledge in software programs such as HRIS, Benefits platforms, Website navigation, and utilizing Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to complete daily work and reporting. 
  • Maintains a high level of integrity and honesty to build trusting relationships with employees and leaders in a positive and approachable way.   
  • Ability to sell BAPC’s value proposition, culture and brand to others.   
  • High level of organizational skills and task management that requires at times fast pace and multi-tasking.   
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.  
  • Willingness to help in other capacities as needed.  
  • Can work with minimal supervision and is a self-starter.  
  • Is passionate about creating a sense of belonging and acceptance for all team members.
