Join Our Team as an IRA Specialist
Location: Lawrence, MA | Full-Time

We're looking for a knowledgeable and motivated IRA Specialist to join our Operations Team, supporting our Retail Staff and members with expert guidance on all things IRAs. In this role, you’ll handle transfers, distributions, rollovers, conversions, death claims, and account closures—ensuring every step follows government regulations and Credit Union policies. You’ll maintain precise retirement records, conduct annual account reviews, and complete all regulatory reporting with accuracy. What You'll Be Doing (Your Responsibilities)
  1. Keep abreast of IRA regulations and assess the impact on IRA administration.
  2. Serve as the subject matter expert for our internal teams.
  3. Perform responsibilities related to IRA products.
  4. Reviewing account documentation for accuracy and completeness, initiating and or approving transfers, facilitating distributions, and ongoing account monitoring for compliance.
  5. Ensure overall compliance with IRA operations policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain proficient knowledge of pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job specific requirements in a timely fashion.
  7. Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all procedures adhere to applicable IRA regulations & laws.
  8. Monitors risk controls related to financial transactions processed against customer accounts.
  9. Ensure compliance in the annual processing of all tax filings.
  10. Provides back up to other members of the operations team as needed based on capacity.

What We’re Looking For (Your Qualifications)

  1. Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience required.
  2. Specialized IRA training and/or work experience preferred.
  3. Minimum three (3) years' experience in banking, specifically in bank operations.
  4. Minimum of one (1) year IRA product experience.
  5. Certification required within (1) year and maintained.
  6. Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills.
  7. Research, analysis, and problem resolution skills.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Organizational skills and detail oriented.
  10. Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills.
  12. Ability to work in a team environment.
  13. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  14. Proactive self-starter who is detail and goal oriented.
