About the Department
Brunswick County Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a qualified and motivated Business Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the HHS division, which includes Emergency Medical Services, Health Services, Public Housing, Social Services, and Veterans Services.
The Business Manager is responsible for reviewing, processing, and tracking payments for non-profit grants to ensure timely and accurate financial management. They also oversee tracking and reporting for contracts, service agreements, and grants as well as preparing and monitoring monthly and annual reports.
Additionally, the Business Manager provides logistical support to HHS departments, including ordering equipment and vehicles, and serves as a key liaison between HHS departments, the County Legal Department, and contract providers.
Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Equally important are strong interpersonal skills, as the Business Manager regularly interacts with employees, clients, professionals, and the public with tact, professionalism, and discretion. This position also collaborates closely with community groups, local service providers, and businesses throughout the County to support efficient and effective service delivery.
Reporting directly to the Health and Human Services Executive Director, this position plays a vital role in building positive relationships and supporting the delivery of essential public services throughout Brunswick County.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business management or project management, supplemented with three to five years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
