Description
The Interior Design Assistant will assist the Interior Designers in all aspects of projects, including development of presentations for design concepts that satisfy the client’s aesthetic preferences, specifying finishes and materials based on the client’s budgetary requirements, adhering to project timelines, interior modeling in SketchUp, and overall documentation of the project.
The Interior Design Assistant is also responsible for assisting Interior Designers in related workflow with other Blue Heron departments including Architecture, Vision, Sales, Project Management, Project Delivery, Project Administration, Lifestyles, Production, Construction, and Estimating to help ensure the efficient production and delivery of respective work products.
The Interior Design Assistant role will work in concert with and assist the Interior Design Manager with progressing the department in its continual pursuit of quality and delivery of timely services to its clients and other Blue Heron departments.
- Promote and encourage the alignment with Blue Heron Core Values, Policies, Philosophies, Processes, and Methodologies
- Assist in all tasks related to the creation of aesthetically pleasing interior spaces, including overall color palette, material and finish specifications, and the coordination of architectural elements within interior spaces
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of all documentation related to the design process, such as interior concept presentations, interior finish schedules, specifications appendices, diagrams, and technical SketchUp modeling
- Incorporate all the Blue Heron interior design standards and support best practices development and documentation
- Assist in maintaining neat and organized work areas and materials storage in the design library
- Effectively oversee client billable hours and log hours daily into Paylocity
- Take initiative and seek out mentors to further career development
- Attend as necessary: Interior Design Team Meetings, Client Meetings (as needed by the Interior Designer), Internal Review and Collaboration Meetings, Special Purpose, Vendor, and Company Meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in interior design or related field
- Routine use of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Procore
- SketchUp- Intermediate to Advanced Knowledge
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize project workload, and time sensitive tasks
