SXEW Shipping Clerk en ASARCO LLC

ESCRIPTION:

The SXEW Shipping Clerk will provide administrative support to the SXEW-Leaching Department.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.

 -Studies shipment schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

-Responsible for the daily shipments of Asarco Ray Copper Cathodes by truck or rail.

-Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

-Interprets job orders to workers involved with the weighing and loading of cathodes.

-Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

-Recommends measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

-Interact with Purchasing, Accounting, Traffic, and Metals Department.

-Assist Metals Department on end of month inventory of copper cathodes, copper starter sheets, and copper scrap in Tankhouse.

-Daily inventory of operating supplies to ensure essential materials are on hand at all times (starter sheets, banding material, etc).

-Provide administrative support for process record keeping.

-Insure that all truck drivers follow all Ray mine safety and health standards.

-Review daily production numbers and verify weights with Ray Metallurgical Secretary.

-Verify cathode and starter sheets inventories after deliveries and shipments.

-Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.

-Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

-Maintains time and production records.

-Confers with other Supervisors, General Supervisors and Metallurgical Engineers to coordinate activities.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-MIMS, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

-Prioritize and manage time effectively.

-Requires the ability to do multiple tasks.
