Job Summary
Serves meals to members and their guests and provide excellent customer service. Responsible for providing the finest personal service to all members and guests, maintain a positive attitude with a commitment to courtesy, respect, and proper etiquette.
What You'll Do
- Greets members as they are seated in the dining room
- Presents menu, answering questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service. Demonstrates working knowledge of menu selections, including specials
- Prepares dining room for shift, such as table setting, making coffee, etc.
- Accurately takes member orders; efficiently operates point of sale (POS) system
- Serves members using proper serving guideline
- Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed
- Cleans, stocks, and maintains workstation throughout shift
- Provides timely communication with bus staff regarding guest needs
- Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving within Chef's guidelines
- Re-stock service ware for meal shift
- Notifies Restaurant Manager of food or service related member concerns, and work with him/her to resolve issues
- Totals bill and accepts payment
- Ensures guest satisfaction of dining experience
- Reconciles tickets with end-of-shift summary
- Follows all safety and sanitation policies
- Communicates effectively and in cooperation with kitchen staff
- Performs additional responsibilities, such as room service or catering duties, as requested by a manager at any time
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Previous Restaurant Server and Bartending or Drink mixing experience required
- Washington State Food Handlers Permit
- MAST Class 12 Alcohol serving Permit
- English language and professional communication skills
- Basic math skills and problem solving abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members, and other employees of the organization
