Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport residents to and from scheduled appointments in a safe, courteous and efficient manner. This includes assisting residents as needed entering and exiting the vehicle, loading and unloading mobility equipment i.e. walkers, wheelchairs, etc.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of transportation requests, ensuring effective scheduling of the Driver and resident’s time, as well as, use of the facility vehicle.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the facility vehicle including the interior and exterior.
- Ensure the vehicle is appropriately fueled and ready for the next day. This also includes checking the oil, washer fluid levels, brake and headlights, tire pressure and any applicable belts.
- Monitor, schedule and record the maintenance needs of the vehicle. This includes scheduling the vehicle for routine maintenance checks. Reporting any unexpected repairs or maintenance needs to the Office Manager and schedule maintenance as directed.
- Deliver and pick-up correspondence/packages to and from Cherry Hill on a daily basis.
- Perform other location duties as required. This may include delivering resident packages, taking out recycling, taking packages to the Post Office, sweeping the parking garage, etc.
- Back-up the Receptionist to include answering the telephone, taking messages, greeting guests and visitors, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager or the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
- Must be a minimum of age 25.
- A high school diploma or equivalent highly desired.
- Must become CPR certified if currently not certified.
- Must be able to think, act and intervene independently on both routine and emergency situations. Must be self-motivated and perform job functions independently.
- Possess skills and virtues such as: outgoing, patience, nurturing, respectful, compassionate, etc. including a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capable of relating to a variety of people and personalities.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Possess excellent oral communication skills and ability to write effectively.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if needed and be willing to have a flexible lunch schedule.
- Able to lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk, bend and reach for long periods of time.
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to body fluids, infection, odors and disruptive behavior of residents.
- May be exposed to chemicals/cleaning solutions.
