Position Summary
The Helper supports the Shop Technician and Manufacturing Team in the assembly, installation, and wiring of modular electrical systems including eHouses and Switchracks. This entry-level role involves assisting with material handling, basic installation tasks, tool preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The Helper works as part of a team to ensure high-quality assembly, following direction from the Shop Technician and Manufacturing Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly Support
- Assist Shop Technicians in installing cable trays, panels, conduit, and equipment.
- Help pull cables, strip wires, and prepare materials for terminations.
- Deliver tools, materials, and hardware to technicians as needed.
Material Handling & Staging
- Organize and move materials and components to appropriate workstations.
- Support inventory checks and verification against BOMs.
- Assist with unpacking, labeling, and preparing materials for installation.
Shop Maintenance & Safety
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Assist with equipment setup and teardown at the start and end of shifts.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
Team Collaboration
- Take direction from Shop Technicians and the Manufacturing Lead.
- Participate in team briefings and help execute daily production goals.
- Ask questions to ensure work is completed correctly and safely.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and follow verbal instructions.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the electrical manufacturing field.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction, warehouse, or electrical shop environment.
- Familiarity with modular construction or electrical systems.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and use of PPE.
Work Conditions
- Full-time position in a manufacturing/shop environment.
- May require bending, lifting, and physical labor throughout the shift.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project schedules.
Administrative Task
- Track and register project hours each week using Deltek and/or D-Tools as part of the project timesheet process.
