Job Summary

The Behavior Intervention Implementation Assistant (BII) reports to the Resource Specialist Teacher (case carrier), supported by the Behavior Intervention Development Specialist, and collaborates with the classroom teacher. The BII provides behavioral and instructional support to students with special needs whose behavioral and/or social-emotional challenges impact their ability to be fully involved in the classroom. The BII will redirect students to demonstrate desired behaviors, monitor and document progress on behavior goals and objectives, and provide necessary interventions to support students with becoming independent in the general education setting. Applicants must be willing to work with students who may act in an aggressive or disruptive manner, and have negative attitudes. Individuals that hold this role may be required to attend to students’ personal hygiene needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Monitors student behavior and utilizes approved behavior management techniques to redirect and modify inappropriate behaviors. - Assists students in prescribed learning activities. - Administers one-on-one ABA-based Intensive Behavior Intervention methods to designated students in a school setting. - Implements documented therapy plans for Behavior Intervention treatment. - Monitors, observes, and reports behavioral data of students according to approved procedures. - Conducts behavioral programs and activities for students with social/emotional/behavioral needs individually or in small groups, carries out behavior, social and academic instruction that will assist the student in meeting the goals and objectives as directed by certificated special education teacher or other certificated staff. - Assist in planning and following through with behavioral interventions. - Provides behavioral support in the classroom as appropriate.

Required Documents

- Completion of at least 48 college semester units or 60 college quarter units. Associate's degree preferred. - Pass basic academic competency test. - 1 year of experience working with and developing caring relationships with students in a school setting, including students with disabilities. - Experience in observing and documenting student behavioral data. - Experience in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) behavior intervention techniques. - Dedication to our mission.
