Position Title: Project Coordinator, Student Services: Title IX Intake Coordinator, Truancy Support
Salary Range: $45K - 60K
Contract Length: This is a 12-month position
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Student Services
Basic Function: Serves the school community by working with the Director of Student Services, organizes, and maintains all tasks and special projects related to truancy, supporting students who are re-entering school from expulsion and functions as one of the Title IX Intake Coordinator and Truancy Coordinator
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Truancy and Enrollment Support
- Work with elementary schools in identifying students experiencing chronic absenteeism
- Actively work with families to identify barriers to regular school attendance
- Provide support via community resource referrals
- Coordinate and develop truancy prevention programming with the CASIE Center
- Maintain truancy records between the district and the Prosecutor's office
Re-Entry From Expulsion Student and Family Support
- Coordinate wraparound and diversion services for students in the Suspension–Expulsion phase with
- Collaborate with the District Restorative Justice Coordinator, District Family and Community School Specialist (FACSS) administrators, social workers, counselors, and teachers and families to schedule student re-entry, repair of harm, and conflict resolution meetings.
- Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, families, community partners, and SBCSC staff, promoting equity, inclusion, and justice.
- Active participation in student/family meetings or Restorative Justice circles.
Title IX Intake Coordinator
- Conduct initial interviews with Title IX Complainants
- Maintain records
- Provide a report of the intake interview and follow-up
- Support the Title IX process as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree Preferred.
- Two years of responsible secretarial experience and highly proficient in computer technology
EXPERIENCE:
- Language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general educational periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, and school correspondence.
- Mathematical skills: Ability to work with and interpret mathematical concepts as related to student assessment; ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. ? Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have competence with database software; Microsoft computer systems, Internet software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, Excel, and PowerSchool.
- Other skills and abilities: Fluent in English; self-starter; must have the ability to work successfully in a public school corporation setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The administrative assistant will be expected to complete office assignments on time. Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs., sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, and use close vision. Light lifting may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment of the administrative assistant will be the South Bend Community School Corporation administrative office. Occasionally, the administrative assistant may be asked to run errands and visit other school corporation locations.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a twelve-month position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
Flexibility with a daily schedule is required.
