The Role

As a Group Reporting Accountant, you will sit within the Group Finance team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting within our organization. You will be responsible for the month-end reporting process, facilitating the preparation of the monthly P&L flash files, supporting the markets with in-depth balance sheet analytics, and supporting the team with the annual audit process. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and technical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and prepare the monthly P&L pack by engaging with markets during flash calls, analysing performance drivers, consolidating market commentary, and delivering clear explanations of key variances at Market and Group level.
  • Prepare and deliver the Group P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and bank covenant reporting components of the monthly Board pack.
  • Becoming fluent in the Group’s reporting tools (NetSuite OneWorld, Wdesk, Business Objects, Power BI, Solution7).
  • Play a key role in the year-end close process and external audit, including preparation and submission of financial information, coordination with auditors, and ensuring timely resolution of queries.
  • Update consolidation and reporting templates as required.
  • Update Chart of Accounts (CoA) within the EPM solution.
  • Work with consolidation and reporting system and support continuous monitoring of performance. Help to make improvements of the system, including functional maintenance.
  • Prepare reporting timetables and distribution to markets
  • Support the groups closing process and serves as POC for Global Shared Service Centre and Market Finance teams and support them with accounting issues.
  • Execute consolidation of accounts, make corporate adjustments, eliminate and analyse intercompany transactions.
  • Take responsibility for reviewing the Balance Sheet pack prepared, investigating significant variances, and ensuring integrity of regional and consolidated financial statements.
  • Preparation and compilation of diverse financial reports on a routine basis: ensuring compliance with the accounting guidelines and procedures (especially IFRS).

Skills and experience

  • Professionally qualified (ACA or equivalent).
  • In depth understanding of, and experience of finance transaction processes; accounting controls; general ledger related entries under IFRS.
  • Thorough understanding of how GL / Closing processes fit into overall process and service delivery.
  • Proven experience statutory and management accounting or financial reporting role.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong aptitude and experience of IT systems including Business Objects and NetSuite.
  • Resilient – able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong excel skills – quick and efficient at creating reports and manipulating data.
  • Able to analyse information and present it in a format that is easily understood by the audience.
  • Able to solve complex problems and extract information from available data to gain a detailed understanding of the root cause analysis and investigations.
