Job Overview
Coordinate loads of trucks with accurate trailer shipments and other parts while maintaining a safe work environment for all department employees. *This job is a combination of indoor and outdoor work regardless of weather conditions. Overtime is a requirement.
Job Responsibilities
- Actively observe and promote ATW safety standards
- Ensure employees follow all appropriate safety procedures and have all necessary PPE to perform their role in a safe manner
- Move trailers from staging area without damage
- Stack & load trailers according to load sheet
- Assist with parts orders loading process
- Verify shipment for accuracy
- Build shipping blocks and dunnage
- Open and close the shipping office
- Continually communicate with sales and production to forecast shipments
- Coordinate and arrange shipments with freight carriers.
- Process related shipping paperwork with accounting and freight carriers.
- Develop and follow leader standard work to ensure completion of all daily tasks
- Be actively involved in the hiring, evaluation, and coaching processes for department employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education – Experience Required
- High School Degree or Equivalent Required
- Minimum 3-5 years Logistics and Shipping Experience
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Efficient Written and Verbal Communication
- Ability to utilize measuring equipment
- Ability to drive a Forklift as necessary
- Ability to lift 50lbs. as necessary
- Ability to demonstrate a full range of motion for reaching, bending and stooping.
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years previous leadership experience
- Lean Principles: Problem Solving, Flow, Standard Work, Kanban, SMED, 5S
PPE Requirements
- Steel-toed shoes or composite shoes
- Safety glasses
- Earplugs
