Purpose:

To oversee the administration and coordination of nutritional services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to maintain optimal health and wellbeing.


Qualifications:

• Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
• Must possess a valid Driver's License which meets company standards for approved driver status
• At least two years of supervisory experience preferred
• Must possess basic computer skills
• Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred
• Current and valid State Registered Dietitian License


Essential Functions

• Prepares comprehensive nutritional assessments and diet plans for each individual according to their choices, medical orders, nutritional requirements and developmental level
• Ensures individuals weights are documented and monitored as needed and as required by the individual plan
• Ensures employees of relevant departments and areas are trained on each individual’s diet and goals and notified of any nutritional changes
• Ensures all needed dietary supplies and equipment are available and in good repair
• Assess and chart nutritional status per individual needs and ensure close monitoring after hospitalizations or other life events
• Monitors the implementation of dietary guidelines as identified on diet rosters, mealtime procedures and programs
• Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of adults and children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology.
