The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions to support the financial operations of the organization. This role includes preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting various accounting functions as needed. The Staff Accountant will work closely with clinical staff and other finance team members to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and access to reliable transportation
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience working in healthcare finance
- Grant administration experience
Essential Functions

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable reconciliations.
- Assist in the monthly close process, including journal entry preparation.
- Assist with grants and contracts, as needed, including financial tracking and reporting.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as assigned.
- Process bank transfers and assist with cash management.
