Position Description
The Associate Director of Web Content Strategy will be responsible for creating, curating and managing content to align with the strategic goals of the university and to engage various target audiences. This role requires analytical and strategic planning to ensure consistency and optimization in content across digital platforms.
Travel Required
Major/Essential Functions
- Audit digital content across websites to identify gaps and to inform future needs.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive web content strategy aligned with university strategic and brand goals.
- Ensure consistent and audience-centric tone, style and branding across digital content.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of current content to inform necessary adjustments.
- Manage and schedule regular content updates using a coordinated editorial calendar to ensure digital content remains current and relevant.
- Participate in A/B testing and analyze results to improve digital content across platforms.
- Maintain and update website content using the Modern Campus CMS platform, in close collaboration with the web team and content specialists.
- Optimize web content for search engines utilizing SEO best practices.
- Ensure accessibility standards by auditing digital content for necessary tags, reading levels.
- Utilize analytics tools (GA4, Meta Insights) to monitor and report on performance of digital content.
- Supervise a staff of content specialists.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Communication design, Web Development or related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in digital content creation or strategy.
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- HTML, CSS programming knowledge.
- Familiar with web analytics tools and data interpretation & analysis.
- Knowledge of web content management system.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and inclusive content practices.
- Familiarity with web content management systems (CMS).
- Familiarity with SEO, analytics and HTML/CSS.
- Experience with image manipulation with image editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, GIMP).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to express ideas and information clearly, concisely, and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Respectful, cooperative, and effective in interacting with a diverse group of employees and stakeholders.
