The task at hand
This internship will focus on exploring the use of Display-P3 as a wide gamut colorspace for displaying images in digital pathology. Specifically, we aim to investigate how this wide gamut color space can be beneficial compared to the standard sRGB color space. The intern will work on identifying relevant examples where tissue pixels require wide gamut color representation and to setup an end-to-end imaging chain assuring correct color rendering using an opensource viewer (slim), leveraging the embedded ICC profile used in digital pathology imaging. As end goal, a demonstrator should be made, clearly illustrating the difference between standard and wide gamut color rendering. Emphasis will be placed on establishing proper research methods, delivering well-structured and documented code, and clear communication of the obtained results.
