Examples of Duties include:
1. Recommend goals and objectives; assist in the development of policies and procedures.
2. Direct, oversee and participate in the development of the Division work plan; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; implement policies and procedures; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; assure projects are completed in a timely manner and within cost parameters.
3. Work with division heads and site administrators in solving existing problems and determining future requirements of personnel and materials.
4. Maintain and monitor District’s computerized work order system.
5. Facilitate the implementation of District standards
6. Assist in budget implementation; participate in the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; administer the approved budget.
7. Coordinate with the Superintendent or designee to make determination of work to be contracted, future stock, materials and manpower needs.
8. Participate in recommending the appointment of personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures; recommend employee termination.
9. Order materials as needed and assist in purchasing materials.
10. Review and approve requests for alterations, remodeling and other work to be done.
11. Present and update the Administrative Team and Board of Trustees on pertinent information.
Requirements / Qualifications
Under general administrative supervision of the Superintendent or designee, supervises the operation, maintenance and custodial care of all schools and accessory buildings, facilities and transportation equipment; plans, organizes and coordinates the work of assigned personnel; may personally participate in the more important phases of their work; performs other related and miscellaneous tasks as required or directed.
Requires complete responsibility for the successful direction of warehouse staff, maintenance personnel, custodians, groundskeepers, bus drivers, and others, as well as for the smooth and efficient operation of all school facilities including the District Office.
Must attach 2 LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION with at least one from a current or previous supervisor.

Desired Qualifications:
Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in construction, operation, maintenance, repair and custodial care of institutional buildings, grounds and appurtenant mechanical and electrical installation, at least three (3) years of which were in a responsible supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of such training and experience.
Required Qualifications:
a. Training and Experience: Completion of four years high school including or supplemented by courses and/or experience in building maintenance, custodial care, and repair of related machinery, automotive vehicles and other mechanical and motorized equipment. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
b. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: A considerable knowledge of: modern methods, equipment and procedures for maintaining the buildings, grounds condition. Methods, materials and equipment used in the various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical work. Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration. Building construction practices and laws affecting the construction and repair of school building including the deferred maintenance program. Principles and practices of administration, supervision and training. Requires knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to the bus transportation of pupils.
Ability and skill to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees supervised, their supervision, also with administrative officials, school principals, and the general public.
The ability to obtain a California Bus Driver’s License.
License or Certificate:
Possession of a valid California Automobile Operator’s License and a driving record clear of reckless driving or 502 violations; a recent TB Skin Test examination with negative report and clear fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice.
