Required Documents

You must submit a current resume, cover letter and three (3) current letters of recommendation for external candidates and one (1) current letter of recommendation for internal candidates written within the last year. Additionally, one of the letters from your immediate supervisor is preferred.

Job Description

DUTIES: The Behavior Management Technician I administers basic behavioral techniques; collects basic data on student performance. Provides classroom supervision of assigned students; provides classroom/home support and/or reinforcement of learning objectives. Assists teachers and parents in implementing Individual Educational Programs (IEP), and behavior plans; develop students’ daily living, academic, social and behavioral skills to ensure an appropriate and safe learning environment. Works positively and collaboratively with a wide range of school staff, parents, and private agencies; maintains instructional materials and students’ files/records. Performs record keeping and basic clerical functions, scheduling, copying, etc. to support the teacher, case facilitator and/or case manager in maintaining student files and providing classroom materials. Attends team meetings specific to assigned students.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must possess high school diploma or equivalent; prior job related experience, paid or volunteer, with children; direct experience working with children with special needs desired. Must have knowledge of the principles of child development; instructional processes; and behavior modification/interventions. Provides special health care needs to students. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License; First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificates may be required; ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Salary Info

Range 11.7 $26.13/hr.-$37.29/hr.
