Platform Specialist - HubSpot
The Role:
The HubSpot Platform Specialist will serve as the primary administrator and technical owner of the British Council’s HubSpot marketing platform. This role combines deep platform knowledge with hands-on configuration and development capabilities, ensuring the system meets operational and marketing needs.
The role will collaborate with internal stakeholders from global marketing, regional operations, data analytics, and IT to ensure HubSpot is optimally configured, integrated, and utilised to deliver customer engagement, marketing automation, and lead management processes.
Accountabilities:
Platform Ownership & Technical Enablement
- Serve as the central owner of the HubSpot CRM platform, managing user access, data quality, custom properties, and automation.
- Develop scalable technical solutions including workflows, custom-coded actions, and integrations with British Council systems, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Business Partnering & Solution Delivery
- Work closely with marketing, customer engagement, and digital teams to translate functional needs into HubSpot solutions.
- Configure modules such as lead capture, email marketing, and campaign automation to support B2C and B2B goals.
Training, Documentation & User Adoption
- Provide guidance and structured training to end users, create support documentation, and drive adoption across global teams.
- Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and enhancements.
Compliance, Retention & Governance
- Ensure HubSpot usage adheres to internal data policies and retention rules.
- Collaborate with governance and data privacy teams to maintain compliant and clean data practices across the CRM.
Role specific knowledge and experience:
Essential:
- Hands on experience in HubSpot Marketing Hub and CRM
- Hands on experience in campaign / programme execution in Marketing Automation platforms e.g., Pardot, MAPP, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Bloomreach, DotDigital, Marketo, Eloqua, Responsys etc)
- Experience designing and building lead scoring / grading models. and Lead nurturing programmes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organisational skills.
- Proficient in HTML, CSS coding
- SQL programming skills
Desirable:
- Project management
- Customer and stakeholder management
- Risk and compliance evaluation and management
Education: Graduate
