Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Talent Specialist to support and enhance our end-to-end talent lifecycle. This role is pivotal in attracting, developing, retaining, and optimizing top talent to drive business success – while tailoring efforts to the unique needs of a manufacturing environment, such as high-volume hiring, skilled trade recruitment, and workforce development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about people, experienced in talent acquisition and development, and skilled in utilizing systems that support employee performance and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruiting Strategy & Talent Acquisition
  • Design and implement proactive recruitment strategies aligned with business goals and workforce planning for the company. Oversee the recruiter’s practices and ensure compliance and expectations are being met.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify current and future staffing needs, develop role profiles, and create targeted sourcing plans.
  • Work directly with our 3rd party vendors (job boards, social media, referrals, and partnerships) and align the needs with our plant facilities.
  • Own the recruiting process for Management level and corporate level positions. Coordinate recruiting for other positions across our other plant locations.
  • Analyze recruitment metrics and report on time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and quality of hire.
  • Attend or organize job fairs, trade school partnerships, and local hiring events. Plan and organize recruiting training programs and manage logistics accordingly.
  • Maintain candidate pipelines using an ATS (applicant tracking system) and ensure recruiting teams are following proper protocols/procedures.
  • Help create an inclusive workforce strategy, managing compliance with labor laws, and workforce reporting.
  1. Learning & Development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess learning needs and design training programs to build skills and capabilities across the organization.
  • Partner with our plant facilities to create an efficient and successful onboarding experience of new hires.
  • Support the development and delivery of leadership development initiatives and ongoing employee training. Create consistent approaches at our plant facilities and hold stakeholders accountable for.
  • Track and evaluate learning program effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance outcomes.
  1. Retention & Employee Engagement
  • Develop job profiles for the company to support career pathing and training programs for upskilling employees in technical or supervisory roles. Provide visibility to job expectations across the company and guide employees for next steps in their career.
  • Monitor employee engagement and satisfaction through surveys, focus groups, and feedback tools in partnership with our plant facilities.
  • Assist with career pathing, internal mobility, and succession planning to provide clear growth opportunities for employees.
  • Partner with HR and leadership teams to identify and mitigate retention risks. Strategize with leadership on action plans and assist in accountability towards execution of planned actions.
  1. Performance Management
  • Partnering with Corporate Team to align strategic vision of performance management goals and supporting the execution.
  • Support the design and rollout of performance improvement plans where necessary.
  • Maintain performance data and assist in analytics to inform talent decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field – or equivalent experience to a BS degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition or broader HR roles with exposure to L&D, retention, and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of talent lifecycle best practices and HR metrics.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
