The Manager for Centra PACE Transportation is responsible for overseeing Transport Supervisors, EMT- Transporters, and Drivers. The manager plans, organizes, schedules, monitors, and leads the work of individuals and groups to attain desired results; selects and develops staff, ensures staff productivity; facilitates Centra's department specific strategic plans; maintains overall safety and quality patient care, and functions within budgetary guidelines. The Manager will oversee daily operations of these departments and communicate routinely with the Senior Director, Director of Operations, and Site Directors as needed. The Manager will maintain all required certifications and / or licensures, assure compliance with all federal and state regulations, and associated code of ethics.

Responsible for overall Transport Teams quality and effectiveness including identifying the need for new services and innovative ways to provide care, improving efficiency and effectiveness and responding to participant and community needs.
Assists with revision and development of policies and procedures in accordance with VADSS, DMAS, and CMS regulations. Assures policies are adhered to by employees.
Actively participates in department-based and organizational problem solving.
Completes continuing education requirements as mandated by Centra policy.
Facilitates evidence-based care utilizing a multidisciplinary approach for patients.
Assists in the creation and delivery of the short- and long-term goals of the departments.
Works with vehicle dealers to create, modify, and review the speciation’s for the vehicles used by PACE sites.
Supervises time and attendance reporting for direct reports.
Assures staff adhere to all departmental and corporate policies, training and education requirements.
Performs employee evaluations, provides direct feedback to employees. Obtains Director's input as needed.
Promptly addresses employee concerns, provides coaching and issues disciplinary action as necessary.
Oversees skill-based competencies. Assures all employee, training, safety, quality and all other files are maintained and updated as needed.
Oversees all certification and / or licensure inspections as needed.
Oversees work schedules to assure shifts are filled with minimal overtime, and in compliance with all Centra, state and federal labor standards.
Meets regularly with support (leadership) staff to assure departmental objectives are met.
Achieves patient satisfaction target scores.
Directs and supervises Centra PACE Transport Supervisors, EMT Transporters, and Drivers.
Collaborates with all disciplines within the organization to enhance high quality patient care.
Develops new programs or other initiatives to improve customer service.
Serves as a mediator between employees and customers.
Empowers and motivates Transport team members delegates tasks effectively.
Develops plan for marketing, public relations and community outreach programs.
Adheres to budget requirements with consideration to cost containment and patient care.
Collaborates with Business Manager on establishing annual Transport Budget.
Participates on process improvement projects within departments and the organization.
Utilizes research-based data to improve patient outcomes.
Manages employee performance which includes: regular evaluations, mediating disputes, and administering progressive discipline.
Identifies department quality issues and initiates and implements improvement outcome measures.
Assures all daily, monthly, quarterly, annual / bi-annual inspections are conducted and accurate. Assures documentation is provided.
Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Oversees hiring process of new staff.
Strategic planning for PACE transportation program.
Manages and communicated any changes or needs for the transport software system.
Qualifications
Required Education: Successfully completed EMT training and has EMT certification.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or associated field from a regionally accredited college
Required Experience: Experience in a career EMS or transport service. Must have and maintain a valid VA drivers license with a minimum of "0" to "+5" merits. DMV reports checked yearly or as deemed necessary. Must meet health, criminal background and drug screen requirements according to Centra policy. Experience in conflict management and addressing customer service-related issues.
Preferred Experience: Previous management experience in an EMS /transport service.
