Position Summary
In this role, you will assist our dentists in delivering quality dental care to children and adults. You’ll help prepare treatment rooms, assist with x-rays, and ensure patients feel comfortable during their visits. Your role will directly impact our office operations, compliance, and public image.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during treatment procedures for children and adults
- Escort patients to and from the treatment rooms
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Complete polishing & sealant procedures without guidance.
- Assist with opening and closing of the back office as scheduled
- Ask patients about their medical history, take vital signs, and record data
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in treatment rooms and sterilize equipment
- Help patients feel at ease before, during, and after treatment
- Provide follow-up instructions and help schedule next appointments
- Handle emergencies by following established policies
- Participate in daily team huddles, meetings, and workshops
- Maintain and update patient charts and records
- Monitor and maintain office inventory, ensuring minimal waste
- Protect patient confidentiality at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
- CPR certification and a valid state driver’s license
- Some Pediatric Dental Assisting (Preferred)
- Strong computer skills, with familiarity with Dentrix Enterprise (preferred)
