 The Human Resources Manager will serve as a strategic partner and consultant for the organization, with a primary focus on employee relations (40%), manager engagement (20%), and HR generalist functions (30%). This role supports the organization through proactive coaching, conflict resolution, policy development, and compliance with employment laws. The HR Manager will foster a culture of trust, engagement, and continuous improvement aligned with LSS’s mission.

Hybrid work environment with travel to programs across the MN.

 This role pays between $79,000-$83,000.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations – 40%

  • Lead investigations and support conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
  • Advise managers on performance management and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Promote a respectful and welcoming work environment
  • Work with the legal team on EEO claims and legal actions

Manager Engagement – 20%

  • Partner with managers to improve team dynamics and morale.
  • Lead training for team to improve engagement
  • Facilitate leadership development and feedback loops.
  • Support change management and organizational transitions.
  • Co-lead specific org-wide initiative such as the HR Roundtable to drive engagement

HR Generalist Functions – 30%

  • Manage the performance review system administration
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting on HR metrics.
  • Support the ADA process
  • Working with Talent Acquisition Partners and HR team to develop strategies to drive retention.

Other HR supports – 10% 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Business Partner, HR Manager or Generalist
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness or Business or related field and/or years of experience, which can include lived experience that is applicable to the job and performance.
  • Knowledge of current HR practices, employment law, and compliance.
  • Ability to coach and influence without authority in a way that builds strong business partnerships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and strong ability to influence change.
  • Firm understanding of MS Office Suite.
  • Background check required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Request background check.
