OVERVIEW: The Warehouse Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of warehouse; leads and participated in inventory receipt, put away, picking, packing, shipping, material movement, and cycle counting. The supervisor is also responsible for inventory & shipping accuracy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule personnel to ensure efficient use of man-hours
- Direct and coordinate the activities of warehouse personnel
- Responds to vendor and internal customers communication via email and telephone in a timely manner
- Perform direct labor and training responsibilities
- Facilitate and document pick/pack/ship process to include productivity & error metrics
- Document and analysis of shipping & transportation costs
- Drive improvements in shipping & receiving efficiency and effectiveness
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve employee problems, complaints or grievances
- Adhere to ISO and regulatory requirement & safety policies specific to department
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment in the department
- Teaming forklift operators
- Additional duties as requested or required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manager and motivate staff (including hiring, performance management, etc.)
- Assess staffing needs
- Train, direct and appraise staff.
- Make daily schedule for proper manpower utilization
- Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments
- Issues written and oral instructions; assign duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5 years of warehouse operations experience; along with 2 years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
- OSHA safety training, forklift certification, and logistics/supply chain credentials
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics
EQUIPMENT & MACHINES:
- General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee may occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.
