Job Overview
This position provides assessment planning, training, administration, data analysis, and school-based support to high school Principals and Testing Coordinators on an as-needed basis. This position is managed by the Supervisor, Assessment Services, but works collaboratively with the high school Principal of the school which they are supporting.
Roles and Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
- Provides school level supervision of standardized testing programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies
- Assists the principal or designee and the Testing Coordinator in coordinating and communicating schedules for test administration
- Coordinates with School Counseling staff regarding decisions about student participation in test administration and students’ graduation requirements
- Coordinates with Special Education and English Learner staff regarding student test accommodations
- Coordinates with school-based technology staff regarding the distribution and management of devices including ancillary materials, network needs, and deployment of software
- Assumes responsibility for ordering, managing, and returning all assessment materials; to include proper management of secure materials
- Trains school staff in test administration protocols, to include accommodated testing, vendor-specific requirements, and test security; monitors staff adherence to protocols
- Ensures the accuracy of student and test data, protects student confidentiality, provides scores/reports in a timely and professional manner
- Provides on site support to the Testing Coordinator during peak work times and/or to provide specific professional development
- Attends scheduled professional development opportunities as directed
Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure with endorsement(s) required for teaching position(s)
- Current knowledge of federal, state, and local policy/practice regarding test administration requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Excel; basic knowledge of a variety of computer applications
- Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Experience creating and delivering school-wide training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to disaggregate and present meaningful assessment data to a variety of end users
- Ability to adapt to a variety of school climates and management styles
- Demonstrates the personal and professional characteristics for working effectively with parents, students, and school personnel
