About the Role

The Auto Body Painter performs skilled work in preparing metal, plastic, and other vehicle surfaces for refinishing and applying base coats and clear coats. All work must meet CollisionRight�s quality, safety, and process standards�ensuring each vehicle leaves the shop in top condition.

What You�ll Do

• Prepare and refinish vehicles to manufacturer and company standards.

• Mask, sand, clean, and prep vehicles for painting.

• Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using waterborne or solvent-based paint systems.

• Mix and match paints to achieve accurate color blends.

• Perform buffing/sanding of finished products as needed.

• Inspect painted vehicles to ensure top-quality results.

• Maintain spray guns and painting equipment in proper working order.

• Follow all required safety procedures, including PPE use and handling of fumes/materials.

• Assist with minor bodywork when necessary.

What We�re Looking For

• 1�3+ years of experience in auto body painting or refinishing.

• Solid working knowledge of automotive paint processes, techniques, and materials.

• Skill in mixing and applying paints, with strong color perception and attention to detail.

• Experience maintaining and caring for painting tools and equipment.

• Knowledge of proper surface preparation methods for automotive refinishing.

• Strong physical agility and coordination (able to lift up to 35 lbs, occasionally 70 lbs).

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.

Preferred Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Driver�s License

• I-CAR or ASE Certifications (preferred but not required)
