Position Description
Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time, twelve-month faculty position in Finance in the Batterman School of Business starting in January 2026 (if available). Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position reports directly to the Chair of Undergraduate Business and is located on the Mequon, WI campus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in finance, including at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in finance and other related business disciplines.
- Mentor and advise students seeking to pursue business majors
- Maintain an active research program, with regular publication in peer-reviewed journals consistent with Batterman School of Business standards for academic research
- Lead the program's applied investment management program (Concordia Ventures Fund Management)
- Stay current in the field of study/area of expertise and develop professionally in content
- Hold regular office hours and advise students on their academic degree plans
- Attend orientation and faculty and university/school/department meetings
- Serve as a role model for scholar-practitioner research and teaching excellence
- Serve on University and school committees
- Other duties that align with the University and School of Business strategic priorities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- An active member of a Christian church
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level finance courses
- Commitment to teaching excellence, innovative curriculum development and delivery
- Willingness to teach classes face-to-face and online
- Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to use technology in instruction and advising
- A high standard of professional integrity, flexibility, strong team-building skills, and ability to work in complex settings
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education and Experience
Candidates must either possess an earned terminal degree (doctorate) in finance or a related field or hold a Master's Degree in finance or business. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. High level experience in the investment and finance field is a plus. Applicants must be an active member of a Christian church.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt (salary) faculty position. The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia University benefit options include, but are not limited to the following:
