Position Summary Details
The Lead Janitor oversees the cleaning and maintenance of a facility, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and well-maintained environment. This role includes supervising janitorial staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, inspecting work quality, and performing hands-on cleaning duties. The Lead Janitor serves as the point of contact for cleaning-related issues and supports the team in achieving high standards of cleanliness and safety.

 
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of janitorial staff.
  • Assign tasks and monitor completion to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Train new janitors on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
  • Inspect facilities regularly and report maintenance needs or safety hazards.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request replenishments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Respond to urgent cleaning needs or special requests.
  • Communicate effectively with building management and other departments.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), ten-year work history if available 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Customer Service Experience 
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience
