Why Join Us

Thos. Moser is redefining what a 50-year-old American brand can be: rooted in heritage, built  for the future. We make handcrafted furniture that tells a story—and now we’re focused on  writing the next chapter of our own.

As Sales Director, you won’t just be managing from a distance—you’ll be in the field, in the  pipeline, and in the room coaching your team to close. This is a hands-on, executional role  overseeing both residential and contract/institutional sales, focused on getting deals done,  building process discipline, and delivering top-line performance across multiple channels.

If you’re motivated by results, comfortable owning outcomes, and passionate about meaningful  products with staying power—you’ll find your place here.

Position Summary

The Sales Director is responsible for the day-to-day execution of Thos. Moser’s residential  showroom and contract/institutional sales channels. This includes coaching and managing  sales teams, enforcing disciplined use of tools and processes, and driving toward consistent,  predictable results.

This role reports directly to the CEO or CMO (to be determined based on final team structure)  and is expected to be a key operator in the commercial organization, working cross-functionally  with marketing, product, and operations to align sales execution with brand and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Leadership

  • Own performance across residential showroom and contract/institutional sales  teams.
  • Drive pipeline activity, team accountability, and disciplined follow-through.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and coaching sessions with all sales  leads.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs: AOV, close rate, lead response time, and team productivity.
  • Help identify new markets and then lead and launch new showrooms.

Contract/Institutional Channel Oversight

  • Manage performance of the contract sales team targeting higher education,  hospitality, civic, and A&D clients.
  • Support pursuit of high-value project work with business development coaching and  client engagement.
  • Ensure coordination between contract sales efforts and marketing campaigns or industry events.

People & Process

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team across all sales functions.
  • Enforce consistent use of CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) for pipeline tracking  and performance management.
  • Onboard new hires with structured training on sales process, product knowledge, and brand storytelling.

Customer Experience & Engagement

  • Ensure that every sales interaction—whether in a showroom or RFP—is tailored,  professional, and brand-aligned.
  • Participate directly in high-impact sales situations to support closings and relationship development.
  • Collaborate with marketing on messaging, events, and campaigns that generate qualified leads.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years in sales leadership roles, with experience in both retail/showroom and  contract/commercial environments.
  • Proven track record managing teams to revenue targets in multi-channel environments.
  • Strong operational mindset with attention to process, accountability, and performance  metrics.
  • Comfortable with CRM systems, pipeline management, and reporting (e.g., HubSpot,  Salesforce).
  • Effective communicator with leadership presence, coaching ability, and a commitment to  customer excellence.
  • Appreciation for craftsmanship, storytelling, and premium positioning.
